At the end, they are all dead: Siegfried, Gunther, Hagen, Kriemhild.

But where is Brunhild, actually? As the last witness, she will remember, conjuring up the images of her past from smoke and ashes. Some things will be kept silent, others retold, as her memory is incomplete.

Brunhild's seemingly absurd thoughts repeatedly break the tragic course of the story, with puppets portraying the protagonists.

The stage: a mighty sword. On the "edge of the blade," the Nibelungs struggle for truth, love, and life, for betrayal, loyalty, and death.

About the Group:
Pierre Schäfer is a freelance puppeteer, director, and author. Pierre studied at the HfS "Ernst Busch" from 1986 to 1990 and is a co-founder of "Theater Handgemenge." He has been working freelance since 1990.

Veronika Thieme was born in 1976 in Arbon, Switzerland, on Lake Constance. Initially, she studied medicine at FU Berlin. From 1998 to 1999, she attended the international acting school École Philippe Gaulier in London and studied with performers from the "Theatre de Complicite," London. From 2004 to 2008, she pursued a degree in contemporary puppetry at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch Berlin, graduating with a diploma.
