"My Friend the Warmaker" was shown live at the festival in 2022. Now, the work has been turned into a film. This is a subject that cannot be absent from the festival program, as it vividly and profoundly highlights how fragile peace is. "My Friend the Warmaker" is an experimental film that transforms the object theater piece War Maker into a cinematic experience. Unlike traditional documentation of theater performances, this film goes beyond mere reproduction, instead providing a dreamlike world through its stunning scenography and fascinating manipulation of objects. The film is inspired by the biography of Palestinian visual artist Karim Shaheen, based on an original object theater piece by Astrid Mendez, Husam Abed, and Marek Turosik.My Friend the Warmaker
Following this, Christoph Bochdansky will present some of his short films: "Rums" and "The Ballad of the Monkey's Mouth".
