MINORITEN GROSSER SAAL
Tuesday June 18, 2024 | 10:00 a.m.

The most famous game of hide-and-seek in literary history!

Told with astonishing flat figures and delightful anarchy. The single mother Goat has to go shopping and also visit the hairdresser. Before that, she warns her seven kids about the evil wolf. However, the lonely scoundrel disguises himself and eats up all the little goats. All? Not all! Rescue is on the way...

A fairy tale with deep emotions, really good hiding spots, and fervent singing. A cult production for all age groups!

Under the label "Grimmig Siblings," the Cie. Freaks and Fremde regularly releases small, wild fairy tale adaptations, especially developed for their audience in Dresden's Neustadt. With a quick stroke, a touch of anarchy, and devotion to Grimm's plots, they create fairy tale versions that always reveal something new between a fresh interpretation and a well-known story.

  • About the Group:
  • Sabine Köhler and Heiki Ikkola have been working together since 2006 as a company, gathering theater makers, visual artists, and musicians in teams. Over extended periods, they experiment with and develop work and life strategies.

"The credo of our theatrical work is engaging with the foreign, the other, the unknown, the impossible. Our work knows no genre boundaries yet is not a hodgepodge. The expression of freaks and strangers always originates in puppetry; Sabine Köhler and Heiki Ikkola learned their craft at the Ernst Busch School of Acting in Berlin."

"In our works, we confront uncomfortable questions and problems for which we often have few answers and solutions. We seek lively societal dialogue, embracing diverse thought and art forms, even beyond the protective walls of theaters and performance spaces. Theater, for freaks and strangers, is not a 'pretend'—it is much more than mere 'truth.'

    "

The company "Freaks and Strangers" received the Art Prize of the State Capital Dresden in 2015 for their work.
